Wolf moon and hibernation...

This time of year takes me more inwards, both photographically as well as personally...the winter time is for hibernating as far as I'm concerned...only leaving the burrow to forage for food (and hot chocolate) and then feeling relief as I'm all tucked up by the fire again! As the flowers are sleeping too, I treat myself to the occasional bunch (as does my partner) to keep me going through the winter months...and I find that I'm drawn to look more closely at the objects inside my home to give me inspiration creatively...

My lovely vintage camera :)

Traditionally, the second full moon of winter is known as the Wolf moon...something that I learnt last night in the wee hours as I couldn't sleep...sometimes, around the full moon I am so wide awake at night...being a  night owl anyway, this doesn't bother me (but I often would get in trouble as a child for  not going to sleep...sometimes busted for late night scribbling under the covers or reading by torchlight).

Full moon rising

I take this second winter moon as a good sign, that we are two thirds through the winter and heading steadily for spring...the days are getting lighter here and we have had a mild day today, which felt like a luxury!

Izzy waiting for her morning walk while I get ready

As I type, the strong, beautiful moonlight is bathing our home, the fast melting snow now being replaced by silver...

  19. wondrous, Ruth!! I wondered myself why I was so active in the wee hours BEtween midnightish and my usual waking time of 4-ish. your post cleared that right up!!

it is a cold sunny blue sky day here in South Florida. a few clouds off to the west and a good breeze freshening the air inside the Wee Cottage.

it feels nice to share these similarities with you...

What a wonderful old camera. I have a couple I should photograph. :)

Although it's cold and snowy, there is definitely a spring-like feeling in the air as it is lighter later and later in the afternoon.
