Ice, snowflakes, and frost...and one beautifully sunny day that lit them all up perfectly, making everything twinkle like gems...I leaned over the kitchen sink to take these pictures of the pretty ice patterns on the window, wobbling away and trying to get close enough to take these shots in focus but they aren't sharp enough for my liking...I decided to share them anyway :)
I thought this one above looked like a star map...
These pics reminded me of planets and stars...
This one above made me think of the rings of ice around Saturn...
Izzy 4 layers...pj's, house coat, 2 blankets and she's resting her head on a hot water bottle...her latest discovery ♥
Yes, it's the coldest day yet for us here, now Izzy has come out from under her pile to go by the fire...very sensible! The funniest thing is watching her running around the garden in the snow, wearing her pink pj's...I'm still trying to capture that on video...
I hope you have a great week and are keeping snug, happy and creative ♥

ReplyDeleteLaurie
:) yes, she really loved it... that was a bitter day though!
DeleteThe ice formations are so interesting! Izzy looks very snuggly with all those blankies. What a great idea to use a warm water bottle.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gail, she really likes it, her face felt cold, so I imagine it felt lovely on the hot water bottle :)
DeleteWow, you are so right - your frost photos look like star constellations! How awesome...and as always, Izzy is precious. I know just how she feels trying to stay warm! lol :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherri, counting the days to warmer weather...is it here yet?
DeleteI think they look pretty sharp :-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice photos....must be very cold where you are!But your dog looks very comfy.
ReplyDeleteYes, too cold for our liking! Thanks for visiting :)
Deletelovely frost pics! I love the way your Izzy cuddles in layers.
ReplyDeleteHello Ruth, catching up with you at last. You have some fabulous ice pictures here and as for Izzy, she is amazing even if I can't really see her. :) I love the pictures your post before this one, and your comment about how different Izzy is from your other dog? That's exactly the reason we choose our greyhound x
ReplyDeleteHi Miriam, hope you're all keeping warm in the west country too :)
DeleteI love the ice formations. Izzy looks so comfy.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous patterns! (Looks like they might make interesting textures, too.)
ReplyDeleteThe first image looks something like a night sky! I love how you've cropped each one into a beautiful jewel of an image. And Izzy....oh, she's so smart! That's exactly what I feel like doing in our cold weather, too!
ReplyDeleteIsn't Mother Nature amazing?
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful, Ruth.
The patterns are lovely and fascinating - each day Mother Nature produces a new one!
ReplyDeleteInteresting series of photos! Loved them!
ReplyDeleteI keep trying to catch the frost, too... You've done a wonderful job of it! :)
ReplyDeleteIzzy looks so cute tucked under all those layers...
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm so glad you did! And I thought the very same thing about the first one, it reminded me of a map, just gorgeous!
ReplyDeletethe frost on the windows is hard to catch. I have frost roses on two of my windows. Both of them with 3 glasses. The frost is on the middle one making it hard to focus. I think you did a great job.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. The top image looks like a snowflake under a microscope.
ReplyDeleteWhat a doll Izzy is. I'm waiting to see the video of her in the garden in her PJ's.
They all look so delicate. Beautiful. I would love to see a video of Izzy in pj's in the garden.
ReplyDeleteWow, Ruth. Looking at your thumbnail image on PAF, I was sure this was a photograph taken from a plane of lights on Earth! These are extraordinary captures and edits.
ReplyDeleteLove your captures of "Jack Frost". I always love seeing all of these amazing patterns. Also, of course love Izzy's comfy spot! A HOT WATER BOTTLE??? Wow, my dogs have not thought up that one yet, but have to admit it is 70 F here today.... Will look forward to that video. Hope your week is going well!
ReplyDeleteI thought your photo would be of the sky at night, but was very delighted to see it was really frost. I love your first photo. I also love the photo of Izzy. I just love it when they get under the covers and snuggle up to something warm and fuzzy. My little guys does it too. It makes my heart smile to see them so happy and contented.
ReplyDeleteI, too, tried figuring yours out from the little thumbnail and was certain that you had some sort of mapping going on. What a JOY to realise what it actually was and I love the way of it as you're presenting it here. so much Wonder in the World, eh?! and right there at the kitchen sink, too!!! I have to say that Izzy's get-up this week makes me smile so big. when I lived in cold weather I was multi-layered and creative, too!! hot water bottles are great, eh?!
ReplyDeleteLovely work, Ruth. I like it so very much!!
Stunning pieces. The patterns of the ice are amazing and yes they do resemble stars and planets in outerspace.
ReplyDeleteIzzy is to cute all bundled up like that.
Very cool photo art! And the photo of your dog is a bonus..Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThe only ice around here is in my freezer!
ReplyDeleteSO lovely... I enjoy seeing how ice 'grows.' The patterns are so varied... Thank you for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #67!
ReplyDeleteNatures "finds" are so inspiring, aren't they? These are just delightful and I'm glad that Izzy has found a new way to keep warm.
