A duvet day...

This week has seen a cooling down of the temperatures here in Kent, UK...the leaves are turning and some dropping, the jumpers and blankets are coming out of storage and the beautiful autumnal tones of the late blooming flowers such as Dahlias are in full swing...

I've always been fascinated by the patterns in nature and flowers especially...and am usually found with my lens poked into the middles of Dahlias and the like...at the intrigue of passers' by..but you guys would all be doing the same thing I know...right? ;) These beautifully precise and intricate petal patterns always remind me of the Tibetan Mandalas, the beautiful meditative paintings that focus the mind upon the wonder of the Universe...flowers do that for me...

I also love these fluffy grasses, I have seen some unusual seed heads lately and will share more soon...below is a card I made for a very talented young lady called Abigail who made me a beautiful rose quartz necklace last week...such a sweet girl :) ♥

Below is a card I made for my partner as it's our anniversary today ♥ he likes grunge ;) I've been exploring one stroke painting and the virtues of experimenting in my sketchbook, something I used to love best at college but haven't really connected to until this week, there's something very satisfying about working on paper and the freedom to experiment...if something comes out well, I can always cut it out and add it to a canvas!

The painting continues and I have another girl in progress which I hope to share with you next week...I finally succumbed and cleared my craft table (kitchen table) up and found my old polka dot oil cloth cover, which is much prettier and more cheerful than the 2 black bin liners I've been using...it feels like a really nice, albeit small art space now...I love having a dedicated space, it's a start anyway...

As the evenings cool down Izzy has discovered blankets...my poncho...and duvets :) oh yes, and cushions to rest one's weary head upon of course! Lurchers, like whippets and greyhounds don't have much coat or body fat to keep them warm, so I've been looking up some options...so much fun for me! It turns out she loves to be snug so I've ordered a lavender knitted whippet jumper this week, which should be perfect for her ♥ photo's to follow of course! My previous dogs' have always had thick, double coats (collie and GSD) and so this is all new for me...of course I'm loving dressing the girl up!

Of course, now there is the battle of who gets there first...below is pic that my partner took on his phone when Izzy snuck into bed early the other morning...

Such a delight to have her here with us! I hope you are all getting your layers ready for the fall moths ahead and that you have good weather to get out (or stay in) and get creative this weekend :)

  18. Of course...and artist such as yourself would make beautiful cards! Delightful. Also delightful are the images of Izzy "under the covers"---so fun! As for the dahlias, they are rapidly disappearing here. One frost a week ago took my sister's. I don't grow them because the bulbs need to be dug up in the fall; I'm not very good at that sort of thing. Your photos are simply wonderful.

Loved the Fuzzy Weeds too - They are fascinating.

Both of your cards are gorgeous. I didn't know you were a card maker too - So talented.

Izzy is so adorable. I loved that first shot of her. Sneaky little thing to crawl into bed, but smart.
