A new arrival here is a sweet girl called Izzy...she's a one year old lurcher who was rescued from the pound a month ago by an amazing local rescue centre, Happy Endings...my partner and I are 'dog people' and we sadly had to say goodbye to our beloved Basil over 2 years ago to old age...we couldn't get past it enough to find someone new until now...I'm a firm believer about timing and synchronicity and Izzy needed us, it felt right and here she is...we're fostering her at the moment as she's sooo nervous we want to give her time to settle in and be sure she's happy here...overnight she looks better already and is acquainting herself with all the comfy places in the house...
'Golden' & 'Yesteryear' textures by Kim Klassen plus 'Old Times' frame by me! - collection 1 freebie (soft light opacity on the frame gives a nice soft border)
I've been feeling the need for different subject matter of late so you can expect a mixture of flowers and Izzy, I'm sure she's going to steal the show from now on... :)
Other news, if you haven't visited yet, please pop over to my new facebook page where you'll find 2 new exclusive free textures, if you are pleased with your results using them, I'd love to see...I have a Flickr group for anyone using RHWest Textures, so you can share your experiments and get ideas. You can post them on the facebook timeline too! We all have different ways of seeing things and this can be so inspiring...thank you to all that have already bought my new texture collections, I'm very grateful...it'll help us pay for the kibble :) check them out here to see how they work on different types of photographs...I'm quietly rather pleased with my slideshows...I'll be doing some more tutorials soon, videos to show some different ideas..I'm rather nervous about that though so bear with me!

Ruth Izzy is so sweet looking and looks so peaceful, like she has finally found his forever home! I have a little rescue dog also, and he is so obviously grateful. Hope that izzy will work his way in to your heart just like Basil! will look forward to more shots of this sweetie.

ReplyDeleteThank you Yvette, yes, more Izzy pics are inevitable aren't they? :)

ReplyDeleteShe's adorable and I'm looking forward to seeing more photos of her :) I'm so glad she's found such a wonderful home :) xx
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Izzy has definitely stolen the show! She is so beautiful...your photo is fantastic! That's a wonderful thing you are doing - she already looks as if she feels safe and loved.
ReplyDeleteThank you for saying that, we really hope she'll be happy here with us, I have had a calm, positive feeling right from the moment I saw the poster for the centre on Thursday and here she is already...must be meant to be :)
DeleteIzzy is one lucky girl and now with a beautiful portrait of herself! :-) I have not been able to do any layering in the last couple of weeks because of my new iMac. I waited patiently to receive my new Elements 10 from Amazon and finally got it last week, but it won't load. It gives me an error message saying that my computer doesn't meet the requirements! Huh! How could that be? Well, I'm going to find out the answer to that question later today when I have my weekly iMac class. Hopefully, I'll be back to layering again soon and I'll try yours out!
ReplyDeleteYour portrait of Izzy is beautiful! I hope she settles in and has found her forever home.
ReplyDeleteIzzy I can tell you bring a lot of light and love into a room! The flowers are so delicate and I love the framing!
ReplyDeleteoh... i love so much about this! first, congrats on your new sweet addition. i love the name you gave your dog, because that is one of the nicknames we will probably give our son, isaac. {my husband loved the name when he discovered a musician in a band with that name.} i'm sorry for your loss of your last dog. but you are right... the timing of such things is all meant to be. your little dog will be such a blessing and will surely fill that loss.
ReplyDeletesecond, the branch/blossom photo is so lovely! i love the composition. lot's of people would have shot the branch so that it was angles across the "canvas". but i like very much how you shot it horizontally straight and split the plane with it. and the blue background... gorgeous!
lovely post.
Izzy looks great! I can see clamour on this image. Colors and style is wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteOhh, Ruth, I am so happy for all of you and especially for Izzy. She is one happy and lucky girl. She is adorable. Great that she found a home. They need a home so much. I found my Tasha when she was six year old in one of adaption centers. She was there for over a month. And that's it, we love her so much.
ReplyDeleteI am very thrilled about what you wrote. It touched my heart.
Two extremely beautiful pictures!!! The last one is a masterpiece!!!!
Hugs from Kaya.

ReplyDeleteThank YOU, Ruth for stopping by and leaving such an encouraging comment! Your work is absolutely lovely, and I am honored! The two textures you chose are perfect on your image here. I'm going to love looking around here some more! This, of course, is my first time visiting from Kim's site, and I'm so enjoying all of the inspiration! I'll be following, and excited about using some of your textures, as well! Your Izzy is adorable! Such a lovely portrait! I'm sure she will enjoy her new home!! :)
ReplyDeleteIzzy is such a darling :) Looking forward to seeing more pics!
ReplyDeleteLove the shot of the blossoms too. Beautiful!
Ruth, I'm so glad Izzy and you have found each other. She looks quite at home in the photo. Lovely flower image too. Looking forward to seeing more images of Izzy and the flowers.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new arrival! We rescued our Izzy 6 years ago and have been smitten with her ever since. I'm sure it'll be the same for you. The rescues always make the best companions. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new pup. I know how hard it is to lose an animal friend family member. They bring such joy to our lives. Izzy is a cutie and the floral branch is just lovely.

ReplyDeleteI just love your Izzy girl. She 's gorgeous, and looks so content. I adopted my little guy, Pogo, a few months ago from a rescue agency, and I just love him to pieces.
